Thomas Dalton Nelson

Thomas Dalton Nelson, age 87, died Tuesday at Wayne/UNC Healthcare.  Born in Craven County, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lowe Nelson. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force having served as a sergeant with the military police.

A graveside service at the Eastern North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca  Bartik and husband, Scott, Jennifer Rouse and husband, David, Michael Butts, Christina Bentley, Zachary Wade and Robbie Wade; great grandchildren, Dalton Bartik, Destiney Anderson and Kevin Anderson; a step daughter, Jackie McNair and a step son, Timothy Wade.
