Teddy Eugene Parrish, age 75, passed away Monday evening at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late John William Russell Parrish and Nancy Creola Earp Parrish. Teddy was a 1969 graduate of Rosewood High School and was a retired state employee.
Most important in Teddy’s life was his family and friends. He also had a passion for the things that brought him peace and joy. He loved spending time at the beach and in the mountains, appreciating the calm of the coast and the beauty of the outdoors. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes as well as riding his motorcycle. Teddy loved spending countless hours working in his shop, where he was happiest with tools in hand and a project to work on. Known by many as “everyone’s mechanic”, he was always willing to lend a hand, fix what was broken and help anyone in need. His skill, generosity, and willingness to help others made him someone people could always count on.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Holly S. Parrish; his daughters, Holly Parrish Daly & husband, Chris, Bridgett Parrish Kornegay, Janisue Elizabeth Taylor & husband, Jonathon; his siblings, Brenda Holloman & husband, Kenneth, Danny Parrish & wife, Virginia, Freddy Parrish (his twin) & wife, Ruth and Teresa Smith & husband, Ralph; grandchildren, Christopher Daly & wife, Macayla, Carson Daly & fiance, Lauren, Cuyler Daly, Riley Williford & husband, Spencer, Laylah Grady, Seth Kornegay, Logan Taylor, Emilee Taylor, Jaxson Taylor, Gabbi Miller and Jaydon Hood; great grandchild, Camryn Daly; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Leeann Miller.
A graveside to celebrate Teddy’s life will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery, 714 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, NC with his grandson, Christopher Daly officiating.
