Susan Bess (Barwick) Grimes

Susan Barwick Grimes, 62 formerly of the Sleepy Creek community passed away at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. She is the daughter of Lois Basden Barwick and the late James Harvey Barwick. Mrs. Grimes loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mom, sister, and daughter. In her younger years she enjoyed growing up at Sleepy Creek and trips to the beach. Susan enjoyed her time working with Dr. Kevin Arthur and his dental staff.  For the last 2 ½ years she has courageously fought cancer.

At Mrs. Grimes request, no formal services will be held.

In addition to her mother, Susan is survived by her daughter, Katherine Brooke Grimes and boyfriend, Dallas Bradshaw; a sister, Catherine Redmon and husband, Emmett of Goldsboro; a brother, James Harvey Barwick and wife, Alesia of Dudley; 5 nephews,; many great nieces and nephews; and special friend, Madison Leary.
