Shirley Ann Jackson Mills, age 90, passed away early Saturday morning, July 26th. Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Pennie Jackson and wife of the late Ralph Mills, Sr. She was a member of the Mar Mac Friends Church and more recently attended Emmaus Baptist Church. Shirley retired as a unit secretary at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, July 29th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Shirley is survived by her son, Ralph Aaron Mills, Jr. and his wife, Shana Lee-Mills; her brothers, Gerald Jackson and Joe Jackson; her sisters, Brenda Scott and Linda Quinn and husband, Robbie; her grandchildren, Leeah Mills, Jackson Mills, Corey Mills True and her husband, Tim; Ryan Mills and his wife, Jordan; a great grandchild, Callie Mills; and her personal caretaker, Yara.
