Sheila Diane Melvin Heath, 76, of Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday at her residence. Born in Goldsboro, she is the daughter of the late Chester Booth Melvin and Annie Rowe Melvin and was married to the late Kenneth Heath for 25 years. Sheila enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, going to dances at the Blue Barn in Kenly, and putting puzzles together. Her family was special to her because they were there for her so much. Sheila had a blessed life; God was with her throughout everything in her life. “Do not be sad for me, I know where I am going. I pray that each of my family will be blessed. I love you all so much.”
A service to celebrate Sheila’s life will be held Monday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Sheila is survived by her daughters, Lori Howington (Nick) of Stantonsburg and Keri Heath (Brandon Edwards) of Hookerton; grandchildren, Cuyler Howington (Natalie), Brady Howington, Nathan Howington, I’vyon Heath, D’maryon Parker, Nolan Howington, and Maddux Howington; great grandson, Blaze Howington; sister-in-law, Brenda Melvin; nephew, Christopher Melvin; a special cousin, Shelda Johnson; and her friends at Kirkwood Retirement Center.
Sheila was preceded in death by her brother, Chester Dale Melvin; nephew, Nicholas Melvin; paternal grandparents, F.J. Melvin and Lola Melvin; and maternal grandparent, Leona Rowe.
