Sallie Virginia Lee Harper, 94, passed away Monday at The Laurels of Pender nursing home. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Rachel Miller Lee, and the wife of the late Norwood G. Harper. Sallie was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Jones Grove Holiness Church.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Thompson officiating. Committal services will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Harper is survived by her son, Franklin Harper; grandchildren, John, Alan, and Samantha Harper; a great granddaughter, Maddison Harper; and sisters, Grace Turnage, Margaret Crumpler and Mary Elmer Deese.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her children, Carl Ray Harper and Glenda Ann Dorsey; a brother, James Henry Lee; and sister, Magdalene Lee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
