Ruby Evangeline (Sutton) Woodson

Ruby Sutton Woodson was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 90 years of life. She passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Nathan and Lottie Sutton and was the widow of the late Richard Woodson.

A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Committal services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Wayne Memorial Park.

 She is survived by her daughter Gloria Thornton; granddaughter, Monique Baxter; grandsons, Shannon Sweet and wife, Renee, Chris Woodson and wife, Melissa, and Brian Sweet; great grandchildren, Amber Game, Allyson Davis and husband, Jared, Evan Baxter, Samantha Woodson and fiancé, Zack Whitfield, Christopher Woodson and Drew Sweet; great great grandchild, Nash Davis; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, a brother, McCoy Sutton; sisters Marie Anderson and Margaret Harvell; two sons, Stanley Woodson and Tracy Woodson; and a special friend, Rudolph Boyd.

 We would like to sincerely express our gratitude and appreciation for the respect, care, and kindness in caring for Ruby while at the Brian Center of Goldsboro.

 Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtfull of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you.
