Ron Merrill, 57, of Goldsboro passed away suddenly at his residence Thursday morning. He is the son of the late Raymond Leon Merrill and Deloris Maybelle Casey Merrill, and he was married to Debbie Merrill. Ron was retired from the United States Air Force and the Bridge Church. Ron loved anything trains and was a member of the Waynesborough Model Railroad Club. He was a big Cubbies fan, and loved bald eagles, his pet pup, Sophie, but most importantly his grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Committal services with full military honors will be held at the Eastern Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 P.M..
In addition to his wife of 37 years, Ron is survived by his children, Ryan Merrill and wife, Sarah of Goldsboro, Andrew Merrill and wife, Elizabeth of Goldsboro, Cory Merrill and wife, Hannah of Goldsboro, and Cassandra Merrill of Goldsboro; siblings, Donald Merrill of Attica, IN, Carl Merrill and wife, Karen of Williamsport, IN, Judy Crowder of West Lebanon, IN, Lynetta Bales and husband, Scott of Williamsport, IN, and Chuck Merrill and wife, Betty of Indianapolis, IN; and grandchildren, Annsley, Rowan, Asher, and Kairi.
