Renea Lynn Cooper Cruse, 65, passed away Friday evening at her residence. Born in Pinehurst, she was the daughter of the late Robert Aaron Cooper and Alice Mae Sipfle Newcomb and wife of James Cruse. Renea retired from the Greene County Water Department. She enjoyed trips to the beach and the mountains. She loved to crochet and sew, especially bears or shirts, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Matthew Ryan Barbato officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jamie Fields and husband Michael of Goldsboro, Nicole Daniel and husband, Jeremy of Clinton, Allen Cruse and wife, Yescia of Pink Hill, and Justin Cruse and wife, Cari of Goldsboro; a brother, Bobby Cooper and friend, Nancy Whitfield; special friend, Teresa Richardson; cousin, Alison Creekmore; grandchildren, Briley, Farah, Marlo, Madison, Abby, China, Piper, Adonis, Da’Shawn, Diamond, and Mason; and great grandchildren, Adelina and Elena.
In addition to her parents, a daughter, Michele Strickland preceded her in death.
