Raymond Murphy Davis, age 86, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Sutton’s Retirement Center. He was born in Greene County to the late Guy Davis and Annie Kearney Davis. He was also preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Newcomb Davis, brothers, Noah Lee Davis and Leo Davis. Raymond retired from Hevi-Duty with 37 years of service working in the fabrication shop.
A service to celebrate Raymond’s life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at11:00 AM in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Ms. Brenda Sauls and Mr. Harold Batten officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the chapel. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Raymond is survived by a son Jeffrey Davis, daughters Angela Davis Head (Jerry) & Sherri Davis Creech (Brent), grandchildren Jason Davis (Beth), Donny Head (Grace) Davey Head (Peri) & Easton Creech, great grandchildren Jordan Davis, Austin Smith, Landon Head, Greyson Head & Oakes Head. Also surviving are his brother, Robert Carroll Davis, and sister, Joyce Davis Creech
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Sutton’s Retirement Center for the love and special care that they provided to Mr. Raymond while he was a resident there as well as Gentiva Hospice for their love and care
