Rachel Lambert Powell, age 91, passed away Thursday morning. Born in Johnston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jasper and Mary Liza Williford Lambert and the wife of the late Alton B Powell. She was a retired supervisor with Burlington Industries.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Kriger and Chaplain Aaron Bissette officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her daughters, Ann Worley, Jean Evans, and Faye Best; grandchildren, Timothy Powell, Chris Evans (Emily), Dennis Jones (Ashley), and Kasey Ezzell (Kyle); great grandchildren, Kayla Davis, Nicole Davis, Joshua Davis, Bentley Jones, Cole Jones, Wesley Jones, Ashlyn Jones, Molly Grace Ezzell and Clint Ezzell; and father to Kayla, Nicole & Joshua, David Davis.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Brent Powell; granddaughters, Brittany Powell and Crystal Davis; great granddaughter, Angel Jones; sons-in-law, Seth Best, Jr. and Michael Evans.
