Philip Curtis Edwards, Sr., 63, passed away Tuesday at Wayne UNC Healthcare. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Doris Marie Thompson Edwards and husband of the late Gracie Edwards. He was also preceded in death by a son, Albert Daniel Edwards.

At his request, there will be no formal services.

He is survived by his father, Calvin Grey Edwards and his wife, Marlene; his sons, Philip Curtis Edwards, Jr. and his wife, Miranda Bruno Edwards; Joseph Grey Edwards and his wife, Tiffany Nicole Edwards; and a sister, Mary Emma Edwards.
