Ottis Ray “Brother" Forrest, age 88, passed away Wednesday morning at Wayne/UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Mr. Forrest was born in Greene Co. to the late Oscar Watts Forrest and Sarah Emma Wade Forrest.
Mr. Forrest was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro. He was retired from Kemp Furniture as a cabinet maker.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. The family will greet friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Ray is survived by his son, Jeff Forrest; daughter, Linda Sweet; brother, Bobby Forrest (Ruby) and grandchild, Rita Sweet.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Jean Vester Forrest, his children, Pam Forrest & Kelly Forrest and his sister, Marie Best.
