Myrtle Jean Davis

Myrtle Jean Davis, age 83, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Sutton’s Retirement Center.  She was born in Wayne County to the late John McKinnley & Alma Mae Smith Newcomb.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth Newcomb & John Wayne Newcomb.

A service to celebrate Myrtle’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby and Mr. Harold Batten officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.  The family will greet friends following the committal service.

Myrtle is survived by her husband Raymond Davis, son Jeffrey Davis, daughters Angela Davis Head (Jerry) & Sherri Davis Creech (Brent), grandchildren Jason Davis (Beth), Donny Head (Grace), Davey Head (Peri) & Easton Creech, great grandchildren Jordan Davis, Austin Smith, Landon Head, Greyson Head & Oakes Head.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Sutton’s Retirement Center for the love and special care that they provided to Mrs. Myrtle while she was a resident there.
