Meredith J. Gibson, age 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, surrounded by her family at her home. Born in Craven County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Preston Elytte and Bela Mae Brown Cumbo. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC and a Red Cross Volunteer at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC with Dr. Glenn Phillips, officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 10:45 am in the church fellowship hall. A private burial will be held at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Gibson; her daughters, Debra Lynnette Strickland & husband, Jeff, Jane Florence Barbour & husband, Tim, Bela Mae Emory & husband, John and Robin Annette Gibson-Brown & husband, Paul; her brothers, Frederick Earl Cumbo and Elwood Lee Cumbo; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
