Mattie Dixon, 92, of Dudley, passed away on Friday at Goldsboro Rehab Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Jones Clark and was the wife of the late Elbert Dixon. Mattie was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church and was a homemaker for her husband and children. She enjoyed her Barbie collection, growing plants, trips to the beach, shopping at Belk’s, and taking care of Mr. Elbert.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Toler officiating.
Mattie is survived by her children, Hubert Dixon and Cindy Wheaton and husband, Craig; a sister, Eurla Jones of Chocowinity; grandchildren, Michael Wheaton, Amanda Wheaton, David Dixon, and Emily Young; and four great grandchildren.
