Mary Jean (Jones) Blackman

Mary Jean Jones Blackman, 76, passed away on Tuesday morning at her daughter’s home. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Bernice Smith Jones; and was the wife of Paul Ray Blackman. Mrs. Blackman was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and a retired bookkeeper with Bussman. She was a loving, selfless, compassionate person, who was dedicated to caring for her family. She was a wonderful cook, who loved sharing her food with all her family and friends. She put others first in everything that she did.

A funeral service will be held at Emmaus Baptist Church on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Committal services will follow in the church cemetery.

In addition to her husband, Paul, Mrs. Blackman is survived by her children, Paula Huffman and husband, Lee of Pikeville, Emily Evans and husband, Paul of Charlotte, and Gary Ray Blackman of Mt. Olive; brothers, Phil Jones of Marshville and James Jones of Mt. Olive; and 6 grandchildren, Trisha Ivey and husband, Rodney, Sterling Blackman, Zack Huffman, Ben Evans, Luke Evans, and Claire Evans.
