Mrs. Margaret Jackson Carter, 91, passed away on Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne county, she was the daughter of the late Burl Franklin and Eva Daniels Jackson, and was married to the late Woodrow Carter. Mrs. Carter was a retired inspector for General Electric. She was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family and working in her flowers and garden.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday September 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Mr. Jamin Carter and Rev.Janet Balsko officiating. Committal will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her children, Dwight Carter and wife, Joyce of Goldsboro, Judy Hales of Goldsboro, Kenneth Sullivan and wife, Rhonda of Mt. Olive, Brian Carter and wife, Betty of Berry, AL, and Woody Carter and fiancé, Vicki of Garner and two very special friends, Sandra Young and Diane Dodder; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deana Carter and 7 siblings.
