Lona Lee (Spry) Flowers

Lona Lee Spry Flowers, age 82, passed away Tuesday at her residence. Born in O’Neill, NE, she was the daughter of the late Cecil W. Spry and Cora Lucille Stearns Spry. She attended Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church, was a former Girl Scout Leader and various fireman’s ladies auxiliaries as she followed her husband during his military career.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 1:00pm at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. James Herring officiating. Family members will greet friends at the grave immediately following the service.

Mrs. Flowers is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Arthur Flowers, a daughter, Laura Bevell and husband, Dale; a brother, Orin Spry; a sister, Lynn Waterman; and two grandsons, Ryan Bevell and Joshua Bevell.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Community Home Health and Hospice Care, 2309 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to the charity of your choice.
