Lelia Marie Wrightson Hartzog, age 85, passed away Saturday at Helping Hands Assisted Living. Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Lionel Joseph Wrightson and the late Lula Mae Holbert Wrightson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter in law, Keith H. and Phyllis Hartzog, a brother, Charlie L. Wrightson and a sister, Selena W. Brewster. Marie was a retired nurse having served her community for many years.
A service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 am by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Tom Hayes officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rex. H. Hartzog; her sons and daughters in law, Dennis W. and Kim Hartzog, Aubrey “A.J.” and Heather Hartzog; her grandchildren, Kelly Parks, Jessica Goldman, Bergen Hartzog, Cooper Hartzog, Peyton Hartzog, Cheyenne Hartzog, Nevaeh Smith, Taylor Waters, Luke Waters; her great grandchildren, Cameron Parks, Jillian Goldman, Jenny Goldman; a brother in law, Harloe Brewster and a sister in law, Wanda Wrightson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
