Lauren Brittany (Gooding) Knuckles

Lauren Brittany Gooding Knuckles, age 31, passed away unexpectantly from injuries sustained in a car accident on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Bobby Lee Gooding, Jr. and Amy Tyndall Gooding. Lauren was a member of Pleasant Grove OFWB Church and was a 2011 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She was a member of the CBA marching band and softball team. Lauren attended Campbell University where she was a member of the marching band and received an Associate’s degree. While in college, she was a member of the Buies Creek Volunteer Fire Department. She also attended Wayne Community College where she received her Emergency Medical Technician certification.

A service to celebrate Lauren’s life will be held on Sunday, January 12th, at 3:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove OFWB Church with Pastor Barry Stallings and Pastor Caleb Hines officiating. The family will greet friends at the church immediately following the service and at other times at the home of her mother, Amy Gooding, 103 Quail Croft Drive, Goldsboro.

Lauren is survived by her father, Bobby Lee Gooding, Jr. and wife, Shirley Proctor; her mother, Amy Tyndall Gooding and fiancé, Allen Smith; her children, MacKenzie Renea Knuckles and Maddison Faith Knuckles; her husband, Andrew Brittan Knuckles; her brother, Joshua Louis Gooding and wife, Avery; her maternal grandfather, Harvey Louis Tyndall; her paternal grandparents, Bobby Lee Gooding Sr., and Patsy Wise; her in-laws, Karen & Louis McDougald; snd her step mother-in-law, Suellen Knuckles.

Lauren was preceded in death by her grandmother, Eleanor Gooding and father-in-law, Tommy Knuckles.
