Laura Ellen (Holland) Mondell

Laura Ellen Holland Mondell, age 77, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024. Born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Margaret Elizabeth James Holland. A graduate of Goldsboro High School, she was the wife of Richard E. “Rick” Mondell. Laura was a dedicated Pastor’s Wife and a proud “Granny” to her nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandy Bottom Baptist Church, 4568 NC-55, Kinston, NC.

Along with her husband, Laura is survived by her children, Martin Rose, David Rose, Richard Mondell and Karrie Mondell; her sister, Linda Holland Grice; her grandchildren, Martin Rose, Brooke Mondell, Haley Rose, Gregory Scott Riggs, II, Braxton Mondell, Jaxon Rose, Debra Riggs, Colleen Mondell and Conner Mondell; her great grandchildren, Blythe Riggs and Alina Mellado.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and doctors at UNC/Johnston Hematology & Oncology for the care given to Laura, especially Crystal, Lillie, Brooke and Stacy.
