Mr. Walker was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a carpenter for himself.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 in the sanctuary of Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hobbs officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the home of Mr. Walker on Red Hill Rd., Mt. Olive.

Tinker is survived by his significant other of 30 years, Nola Wooten; two daughters, Tammy DeLuca of Mt. Olive and Kimberly Cassell and husband, Dave of England; two sons, Joseph “Joey” Walker of Holly Ridge, and Phillip Walker of Faison; a sister, Linda Jo Hopkins and husband, Bobby of Ayden; five grandchildren, Paige Houston, Taylor Walker, Skylar Cassell, Landis Cassell, and Kayla Walker; and one great grandchild, Elizabeth Houston.

In addition to his parents, Tinker was preceded in death by his sister, Lana “Monk” Tadlock and a son in law, Steve Deluca.

The family express their sincere thanks to the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro, the 3HC Hospice staff, and Pastor Mark Hobbs of Snow Hill FWB Church for their untiring efforts in treating Tinker with love, concern, and kindness during his fight.
