Kenneth Paul “Kenny Paul” Godfrey, age 77, passed away early Tuesday morning, surrounded by his family and friends, at UNC/Chapel Hill Medical Center. Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late Ray Godfrey and Louise Sasser Godfrey and the husband of the late Sandra West Godfrey. A Veteran of the United States Army, he was a retired Carpenter. Kenny Paul loved his family and many friends, which were also family to him.
A Visitation for family and friends to celebrate Kenny Paul’s life will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
He is survived by his children, Amy Ham (& husband, Tim), Marcie McLaurin (& husband, Steven), Kenny Ray Godfrey (& wife, Nancy), Dale Eugene Godfrey, Angel Dawn Pollock, Donald Holland, Renee Jackson, Quinton Lee Powell; two sisters, Evelyn White (& husband, Jerry) and Kaye Bedford (& husband, Lloyd); grandchildren, Mackinzie Clarke (& husband, Joseph), Natalie Ham, Victoria McLaurin, Roslynn Elizabeth Morris (& husband, Hunter), James Winston Lynn, Sandra Raye Godfrey, Grace Ray Godfrey, Dustin Lee Jay Price, Dylan Price and Dale Eugene Godfrey, Jr.; great granddaughter, Heartley Elizabeth Mitchell.
