John Leslie  “JL”  McGinnis, age 47, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Wayne UNC Healthcare.  Born in Wayne County  to John Daniel McGinnis Jr. and the late Geraldine Strickland.  John was a member of Brogden Methodist Church, and was employed with Best Sand & Gravel as a truck driver.

The family will celebrate John’s life with a private memorial service to be held at a later date.

John is survived by his father, John David McGinnis Jr. , several children, aunts & uncles- Jackye  & Steve Cushings, Frankye & George Watson.  Cousins that he grew up with and a very special cousin Shelly Bailey.   Also a host of extended family and friends survive him
