Joel Ray Taylor

Joel Ray Taylor, age 83, passed away on October 31. He was born in Duplin County, NC, the son of Roland and Estelle Taylor. Ray lived long and well, with many friends and loved ones. He leaves behind his loving wife, Annette, his son, Chris, and his granddaughter, Lauren. He also leaves a sister, Betty Sauls and her husband Jimmy; two brothers, Roy Lee Taylor and Elmer “Buddy” Taylor; and two brothers-in-law, Bud Price and his wife Ava Gray, and Worden Price and his wife Judy.

It was Ray’s express wish that there be no traditional funeral service, particularly in these times. Instead, he asked that when he left, we remember him by making the world better, more kind, more caring. To honor his wishes, please look around you, find a friend, a neighbor, a stranger, someone who could use your help, and help them, remembering Ray when you do. Contribute to a worthwhile charity of your choice, perhaps a children’s fund or a pet shelter, and do it in memory of him. Leave this world, as he did, a better and kinder place for having been here.
