Jimmy Earl Davis

Jimmy Earl Davis, 81, passed away peacefully at home the morning of August 2, 2025. He was born on February 19, 1944 to the late Lewis Davis and Emma Davis.

Jimmy was a dedicated worker his whole life, working with his children and family in the business he started, Davis Painting. He was devoted to spending time with his family and helping others in any way he could. Whenever he was able, Jimmy spent many days and nights visiting the hospital and nursing homes. All of his Sundays consisted of church, taking every opportunity he had to introduce others to his Savior. Family and friends were most important to him. Every time someone walked through the door, Jimmy’s face would light up with joy. 

A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Gay officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will gather to greet friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Davis; daughter, Jackie Davis; sons, Bryant Davis and Stephen Davis and wife Elizabeth Davis; grandsons, Brad Davis and wife Ashley Davis, Chad Davis, Myles Davis and wife Brooke Davis, and Alex Davis and girlfriend Anna Summerlin; two great granddaughters, Aubrey Davis and AnnaBryan Davis; and his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Jimmy also adored his special nurses and staff of Davita Dialysis.
