Janice Marie (Woodard) Braswell

Janice Woodard Braswell, age 84, passed away Wednesday at her home. Born in Johnston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Harvey F. and Pearllean Webb Woodard.  She was married for over 65 years to Rev. Vernon Braswell.  She was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church and as her husband quotes “The Best Christian I have ever known…..Her life was her testimony”.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Ownley and Dr. Michael Collier officiating.  Burial will follow at Selma Memorial Gardens.  A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Braswell Hall at the church. The Braswell family strongly recommends the use of masks and social distancing during these times.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Tamara Braswell; her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Matt Harris; grandchildren, Blake Braswell, Madison Braswell, Samuel Harris and Abby Harris.

She was also preceded in death by her grandchildren, Matthew Braswell and Kaitlin Braswell ; her brother, Russell Woodard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Rosewood First Baptist Church/Debt Retirement Fund, 562 NC Hwy 581 S, Goldsboro, NC  27530.
