James Thomas Vinson, III

James Thomas Vinson, III, age 83, passed Tuesday at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Born in Morehead City, he was the son of the late James Thomas Vinson, II and Mary Elizabeth Bunn Vinson. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University, School of Design. He was a self-employed architect and was a member of the Wake County Running Club.

Mr. Vinson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Venus Vinson; brothers, Mark Vinson, Henry Vinson and Robin Vinson; sisters, Elizabeth “Beth” Vinson and Sue Luse; grandchildren, Jamie Vinson and Christopher Vinson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Willowdale Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.
