James Robert Roberts

James Robert Roberts age 82 from Mt Olive, NC, was born on June 5, 1938 in Wayne County, NC and died on a September 17, 2020 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, John R Roberts, mother, Agnes Driver Roberts, wife, Virginia W. Roberts, sisters, Francis Herring, Louise Taylor and brothers, John M. Roberts and James Fred Roberts.

He is survived by his daughter Rene Roberts , son in law, Don Brkovich , step son, Tim Williams,  Nell Roberts -former spouse and friend, several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Robert served as a member of the US Marine Corps for 20 plus years which included tours in Vietnam. He was proud and honored to serve and was quick to let you know he was a marine. “Once a marine.... always a marine”.

Robert loved life and was ever ready for conversation and laughter. He did enjoy a good joke.

Robert loved his family, especially his daughter Rene, daddy's little girl. His eyes sparkled when he talked about her. Robert will be missed but his memories will be treasured forever. He rests eternally with his Lord and Savior.  

A private memorial service will be held at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro, NC.
