James Carson “J.C.” Davis, Jr., age 65, passed away on Tuesday at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late James Carson Davis and Roselean Blackburn Davis. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Davis and Jeff Davis. “J.C.” was a member of the Goldsboro Elks Lodge #139 and was affectionately known as the Mayor of Center Street.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Lamar Jackson officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm and at other times will be at the home of his daughter, Tonya Davis Barber.
“J.C.” is survived by his children, Tonya Davis Barber and her husband, Kelly, Apryl Davis and her husband, Shalamar; his brothers, Keith Davis and wife, Darlene, Shell Davis and wife, Susan, Billy Davis and wife, Tawessa; his grandchildren, Krissy Pereira, Ariyanna Wallace, ShaNora Wallace, and Jaxon Barber, who “J.C.” called his hero; along with several nieces and nephews.
