James Larry Bryant

James Larry Bryant , age 81, of Dudley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Wake County, he was the son of the late James Allen Bryant and Delia F. Barbour Johnson. He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran and later worked as a sales representative in the insurance industry with CNA Insurance Company.

James enjoyed golfing, playing pool, and the friendships he built throughout his life. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Goldsboro and especially valued time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Williams Bryant; son, James Larry Bryant Jr. "Jay"; stepdaughter, Donna Trice and husband Edwin; grandchildren, Colin Trice and Tyler Trice; great-grandchild, Sloane Trice; sister, Debbie Souza (Ed) and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Bryant.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Donald Massey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
