James Brian Gardner, 74, of Goldsboro passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Wayne U.N.C. Hospital. He is the son of the late Huland and Peggy Gardner. Jimmy served in the North Carolina National Guard and worked for the city of Goldsboro for many years. He retired at the age of 65. Jimmy loved his cat, “Baby” and fed all the strays at the Mar Mac Burger King. He was loved by many.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Toni Ellis Gardner; his children, Melissa and Johnny Sauls, Candy and Timmy Cruse, James Gardner Jr., and Howard Gardner; his brother, Ray and Patsy Gardner; two sisters, Judy Trott and Suzette Gardner Evans; his mother in law, Hazel Ellis; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
