Jacqueline Helen "Little Granny" (Steger) McCarty

Jacqueline Helen “Little Granny” McCarty, age 88, passed away Monday at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Born in Iowa City, IA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Steger and Gertrude Meisenburg Steger.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Fishman officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Little Granny is survived by her sons, William George McCarty, Jr. (Vicky), Patrick M. McCarty, Kelly S. McCarty, Terry K. McCarty (Gail), Timothy A. McCarty, Sr. (Linda) and Christopher S. McCarty; her brothers, Andrew O. Steger and Clarence M. Steger; her grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, Shawn, Natosha, Matthew, Marcus, Patrick, Jr., James, Kati, Cody, Sara and Jennifer; 25 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine B. McCarty Luttrell, Jason McCarty and Patty McCarty.
