Iris Rose (Raynor) Swinson

Iris Rose Raynor Swinson, 76, passed away Thursday evening at Wayne U.N.C. Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Hosea and Elma Raynor, and was the wife of the late Billy Swinson. She was a member of Dudley Christian Church, and had been a teacher’s assistant at Brogden Primary School. She enjoyed spending her time at home and having a good cup of coffee.  

A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday at 2:00 P.M. pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Blaine Smith officiating.  A visitation will be held for family and friends for an hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Swinson is survived by her children, Cindy Cooley and husband, Burt of Dudley and Todd Swinson of Warsaw; brothers, Fay Raynor of Garner and Felton Raynor of Newton Grove, a sister, Carolyn Waters and husband, Nelson of Clinton; grandchildren, Tyler Cooley and fiancé, Monica, Hannah Dutton and husband, Micah, Alexis Swinson, and Matthew Levai; and great grandchild, Rylan Levai.
