Helen (Rae) Wood

Helen Rae  Wood , age 84,  of Goldsboro passed away at Wayne UNC Healthcare in Goldsboro  on Friday, November 21, 2025.  She was born in Wayne County to the late Frederick Bradwell and Lessie Bass.

The family will be greeting friends and family Monday evening, November 24, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro.  A committal service will be held at a later date at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmie Wood (Lisa), Scot Wood (Crystal); her daughter, Terri Wood; her grandchildren, Christopher Wood, Haylee Wood Morris (Curry), Hannah Wood Britt (Cody), Heather Childers, Michael Spaxman (Jessa), and Ashley Pigford (Julius),Bradley Johnson; great grandchildren, Wyatt Britt, Samuel Morris, Asher Childers, Natalie Morris, Evelyn Rae Morris, Alva Spaxman, Clea Spaxman, Unique Marshall, Jadyn Marshall and Destiny Marshall.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Jimmie “Woody” Wood, her stepfather Thomas Tew.
