Helen Carson McDonald Richards, age 81, passed away early Thursday morning at her residence. Born in Shreveport, LA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward McDonald and Tommie Elizabeth McDonald. A member of Providence Church, she was a volunteer at Wayne Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi.
A service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held on Sunday at 7:00 pm at Providence Church with Rev. Jim Huskins officiating. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
Helen is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dannie Richards; her children, Dannie Lee (Rebecca) Richards, Jr.; Thomas Howard (Janet) Richards, Brian Todd (Tammy) Richards, Edward Alan (Connie) Richards, Kathryn Elizabeth Morris; her brothers, Ronald Edward (Gail) McDonald, Sr., Dr. William Scott (Aislynn) McDonald; grandchildren, Zoe Richards, Sabrina Rooth, Bradley Richards, Krystina Hahs, Cody Richards, Josh Richards, Dustin Richards, John Futrell, Jacob Richards, Sarah Richards Pennington, Harrison Morris, Maglen Morris; her great grandchildren, Adelina Grove, Rylin Mest, Tommi Richards, Stella Richards, Grayson Richards, Liam Hahs, Noah Richards, Alana Richards, Carson Pennington.
