Greta Aycock Pelt, age 71, passed away Tuesday evening at Wayne/UNC Healthcare. Born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Denzel W. Aycock and Helen Mooring Aycock. Greta was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She also retired from 3C Cabinet Company in Wilson, NC after 20 years of service.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Greta’s life will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Thomas Ruffin Aycock Family Cemetery, 198 Aycock Coston Lane, Pikeville, NC. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
She is survived by her son, Jereme Wayne Pelt; grandson, Jaden Benton; siblings, Reed Kimball Aycock (Vicki), Gary Lynn Aycock (Nora), Beverly Aycock Antley (Charles) and Jayme Aycock Whitaker (Rob).
In addition to her parents, Greta was preceded in death by her son, Kirk Wren Pelt and her sisters, Carolyn Aycock Tillman, Sandra Aycock Ridoutt and Deborah Aycock Fish.
