George Robert Williams, age 67, passed away peacefully Friday morning at O’Berry Center in Goldsboro, NC. Born in Martin County, NC, he was the son of the late John Robert and Clyde Rogerson Williams. George was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth and grew up surrounded by his loving family who helped teach him to walk with braces. George moved to Goldsboro, NC in 2007 to be closer to his brother, Wayne. He lived at O’Berry Center and became a member of First Baptist Church. He will always be remembered for his sweet smile, kind heart and his wonderful ability to share love with everyone he met.
A funeral service to celebrate his life, will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Martin Memorial Gardens, 12812 ALT 64, Williamston, NC 27892. The family will visit with family and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
George is survived by his brothers, John Albert Williams (Faye) and Clayton Earl Williams; Sister-In-Law, Brenda Williams, Nieces, Sherry Bazemore, Linda Griffin (Joe), Gail Williams, Cathy Langley (Jerry), Lori Ann Robbins, Amy St. Amant (Jay); Nephews, Bob Williams, Mack Williams, Jr. (Becky), Earl Williams (Nancy); Several Great Nieces and Nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Haywood Williams (Sybil), Mack Williams (Lavon) and Wayne Williams; Sister-In-Law, Edna Williams; Nephew, James Albert Williams; Nephews-In-Law, Phil Bazemore ad Michael Robbins.
