George Lonnie Denning

George Lonnie Denning, age 89, of Mount Olive passed away Thursday evening at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the son of the Late James Marion Denning and Cassie Elizabeth Sutton Denning.  George was a member of Dudley Christian Church and served his country in the US Army.  Following his service to his country, George was a service technician with Alliance Vending.

A service to celebrate and honor the life of George Denning will be held by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park at 11:00 am on Monday, November 28, 2022 with Rev. Ralph Parker officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Army.  The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.

George is survived by his sister, Annie R. Grantham of Wilson; a nephew, Stephen Lee Denning (Kayla) of Mount Olive; a step-son, Butch Luther; sister-in-Law, Ester Denning of New York.  a cousin, Ann Denning of Grantham; a niece, Mendy Owenby and a special friend, Gwyn Price of Grantham.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Altoff Denning and his siblings, Steve, Earl, Luby, Evelyn, Bobby, Frank, Joe and Betty.
