George Griffin Grandy, Jr.

George Griffin Grandy, Jr., age 83, passed away on Thursday morning at the Greendale Forest Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility in Snow Hill, NC. Born in Wayne County, NC , he was the son of the late George G. Grandy, Sr. and Estelle Carraway Grandy and the husband of the late Ruth Croom Grandy. He was a retired postman with the United State Postal Service in New York.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Noon in Wayne Memorial Park. A time of visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home. 

Mr. Grandy is survived by his son, Chris Grandy; his daughters, Felicia Norman and Annette Grandy. Also surviving are his siblings Eugene Grandy, Earlene Grandy Coleman, Fressie Grandy, Raymond Grandy, Mary Grandy, James Grandy, Eveline Grandy, Brenda Adkins & Angeline G, Williams. Mr., Grandy also is survived by his Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, & a host of extended family

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sons, Curtis Grandy and Kevin Grandy.
