Gary Eugene Harriger, 84, of Goldsboro, passed away Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Oil City, PA, the son of the late Frederick Jeremiah and Lucille Fox Harriger and married to Kathryn Marzolf Harriger. Mr. Harriger is a United States Air Force Retired MSgt and served from 1960 until 1986. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, wood working, and watching NASCAR. He enjoyed traveling in his RV. He loved Montana, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. He also enjoyed big band and country music, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gary was full of “Dad Jokes and One Liners”. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
At this time, no formal services will be held.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Mr. Harriger is survived by his children, Shawn Harriger and wife, Beth of Goldsboro, Stacey Baer and husband, Jonathan of Colorado Springs, CO, Kelly Harriger and wife, Kelly Jo of Sioux Falls, SD, and Keith Harriger and wife, Shannon of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Megan, Ryne, Gary, Sam, Jon, Nate, Emelia, Olivia, George, Jantzen, Brandon, Estelle, Hudson, Chase, Max, and Will; and great grandchildren, Amelia, Aiden, Leon, Charlotte, Emma, George, and Eric.
The family would like to thank the staff of 3HC for their thoughtful and loving care for Mr. Harriger during his time of illness.
