Fred J. & Susan D. Theriac

Frederick Joseph Theriac, age 67, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at his home. Born in East St. Louis, IL, he was the son of the late Jack and Juanita Tinsley Theriac. Fred was the owner and operator of Fred’s Tree Service. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid pool player as he was a member of the APA Pool League.

Susan Diane Hardy Theriac, age 68, passed away Friday, February 28,2025 at UNC-Wayne Healthcare in Goldsboro.  Born in Norfolk, VA. she is the daughter of the late Richard Bowden Howell and Edna Earl Holland Bowden.  Susan enjoyed sewing, crafting and cooking preserves.

A joint service to celebrate Fred's and his wife Susan's life will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Patrick Munston officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held immediately following the service.

Fred is survived by his sons, Chris Theriac and Michael Theriac (Ada); his brother, Jack Theriac (Francie); sisters, Mary Ann Houston and Pam Baird; grandchildren, Ayden Theriac, Briley Theriac, Hunter Theriac, Jackson Zayne Theriac, Taylor Theriac and Kelsie Lee.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kelly Dawn Theriac and his sister, Sandy Riggs.

Susan is survived by her sister, Pamela Miller, and her husband, Gordon; her son, Richard Skrovan, and his wife, Stacey; her son, Edward Skrovan, and his companion, Amelia Castleton; and her son, Joshua Skrovan, and his wife, Shelby. She leaves behind a joyful legacy in her grandchildren: Katelynn Rodgers, Brayden Koeppen, Cameron Skrovan, Cora-Leigh Skrovan, Liam Skrovan, Claire Skrovan, Bonnie Skrovan, and Kenzie Skrovan, each of whom brought light to her life.
