Frances Sasser Worsley passed away on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025 at Heartfields of Cary. Frances was born February 14th 1934 to the late Theodore Malcolm (T. Mack) Sasser, Sr. and Lela Kirby Sasser in Wayne County, NC. She was married to the love of her life, the late Jerome Roscoe Worsley, Sr.
Frances graduated from Pikeville High School in 1952 and attended ACC. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Branch Bank and Trust. After their marriage, she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach. They moved to Durham in 1964 where she worked at Wachovia Bank and the Duke University Center for International Studies until retirement.
Following retirement, Frances and Jerome spent almost 25 years at Pine Knoll Shores Beach and then Goldsboro, before finally settling in Cary. They both enjoyed traveling, gardening, and salt water fishing.
Frances is survived by her sons Jerome Roscoe Worsley, Jr; Steve Worsley and daughter-in-law, Jenny Worsley; grandchildren, David and Matthew Mehan; and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Patrick H. Sasser, J. Mack Sasser, Jr., and sister Jane Sasser Spurgin Hendrix.
A memorial service will be held Friday, 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro, NC.
