Frances Irene (Bethel) Forshey

Frances (Fran) Irene Forshey has earned her Wings and was Set Free from her Earthly Bonds on October 1, 2020 after a long battle with Lupus.

She was born in Jackson, Ohio on August 30, 1952 to Robert and Peggy Bethel. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Forshey, her father Robert Bethel, brothers Tim, Jim and John Bethel, infant son Franklin Forshey and Step father Bill Rowe. She is survived by her mother Peggy Rowe, daughter Stephanie Forshey (Todd), Granddaughters Rebecca (Spencer) Bourne, Andrea Arbaugh (Mike), Hanna Forshey, and 6 great grandchildren, sisters Carla Bethel, Jeannie Marshall and brother Micheal Bethel.

Fran graduated from Jackson High School in 1970. She married Richard Forshey and traveled the world as a Army wife. She worked as a child care provider at Fort Lewis Washington until she moved to Goldsboro NC to care for her mother after her step father suffered a stroke in 2006.

Fran never met an stranger and met each new person with love, respect and a smile. She was always willing to help others in their time of need. She often helped Veterans’s widows to navigate the VA system. She was active in TOPS and delivered Meals on Wheels in Goldsboro. In a world of Karens Be a Fran!

A memorial service will be held at Brogden United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 10, 2020 with Pastor David Moehring officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
