Frances Joyce Merritt Crumpler, age 85, died Tuesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Gulie Braswell Merritt. A member of Rosewood Baptist Church, she was retired from JCPenny.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, July 3, at 11:00 AM in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Mike Collier and Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
Frances is survived by her husband of 64 years, Billy Crumpler; her son & daughter-in-law, Billy Steven and Pam Crumpler; her daughter, Jenny Lou Crumpler Patterson and companion, Bill Skinner; two brothers, Ray Merritt and Howard Merritt; two sisters, Sara Ann Sewell and Elizabeth Dudley; grandsons, Derek Crumpler and Adam Crumpler and wife, Chelsea; three great grandchildren, Liam Braxton, Harlan Ogus and Saylor Ogus; great granddaughter “on the way”, Callie Elizabeth.
