Evelyn Augusta (Wilson) Rivera

It is with great sadness for our family to announce that on Saturday, July 15, 2023, our Heavenly Father called His good and faithful servant, Evelyn Augusta Rivera, home at the age of 89.

She was the daughter of the late Ronnie Malachi Wilson and Jennie Mae Bell Wilson. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Waldo Wilson, Ronnie Malachi Wilson, Jr, Woodrow Wilson, and Rodney Wilson.

Her surviving siblings are Helen Daniels, Roger Wilson, the Rev. Edna Harper, Gwyndella Wilson and Delnora Wilson Douglas. She has many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was married to the late Tomas Monte Rivera, Jr. During this union they had three children, Andrades Rivera-Remines (Dillard), grandson, (Tomas) and great granddaughter, (Serenity); Tomasina Graham, granddaughters, (Jazmyne Graham, Antoinette Graham), and grandson, (Antonio Graham, Jr.); and Tomas Monte Rivera, III, and granddaughter, (McKayleigh Rivera).

Evelyn lived a life that enhanced the lives around her. She was instrumental in developing little minds as she served as a teacher assistant in several schools/districts. She was a Proverbs 31 woman, who served her family, friends, and the community.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Wayne Memorial Park on August 2, 2023, at 11 a.m.
