Evelyn Joyce (Lane) Anderson

Evelyn Joyce Lane Anderson, 72, of Mt. Olive passed away at her home on Friday morning. She is the daughter of the late Bryant and Bonnie Quinn Lane and is the wife of Clarence Anderson. She enjoyed trips to the mountains, working in the garden, and helping Clarence build outdoor furniture.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Sherrie Stokes officiating. Committal services will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In addition to her husband, Evelyn is survived by her children, Susan Leon and husband, Raymond of Henderson, Randy Best and wife, Candy of Grantham; step-daughters, Lynn Deutsch of Goldsboro and Trish Leon and husband, Mark of Grantham; step son, Gerald Anderson and wife,Mellisa; brothers, Ronnie Lane of Smithfield and Lloyd Lane and wife, Anna of Spruce Pine; sisters, Tammy Thornton and husband, Jay of Grantham, Virginia Braswell and husband, Thomas of Nahunta, and Kay Chavanne and husband, Carl of Georgia; grandchildren, Christopher Best and wife, Marie, Sarah Leon husband, Jack, Ashley Leon and husband, Dakota, Matthew Leon and wife, Love, Anthony Best and wife, Nicole, Nathaniel Best and wife, Abby, Caitlyn Hernandez and husband, Fernando, Madison Melton, Karma Sauls, and Izabella Anderson; and great grandchildren, CJ Best and Jason Leon.

In addition to her parents, a sister, Carolyn Lane Outlaw preceded her in death.
