Emma (Turnage) Potter

Emma Turnage Potter, age 88, passed away Saturday at the home of her daughter. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Estelle Jones Turnage and wife of the late Lionel Potter. She attended the Living Word Full Gospel Church. She was well known for her famous pineapple cakes that she made and gave as gifts all over the community.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral.

She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Gregory (Juan) Flores; a brother Roy Turnage; grandchildren, Alan Moody, Jessica Hood (Matt), Michelle (Jaime) Lopez and Jamie Gregory; great grandchildren, Lane Hood and Dewayne Strickland; a great great grandchild, Katherine; and a special daughter, Judy (Keith) Ingram.
