Ella Sue (Jacobs) Shannon

Ella Sue Jacobs Shannon, age 90, passed away Thursday morning at her home. Born in Elba, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Daniel Jacobs, Bonnie Bell Bowdion and step daughter of the late Carrie Bell Shepherd.  Sue was the wife of the late Robert “Bob” Edward Shannon.

She was also a member of Freedom Baptist Church and was retired from Americal.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will visit with family and friends on Saturday, May 29th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Sue is survived by her children, Robert “Bobby” Earl Shannon and fiancée, Roni Levy, Cheri Shannon Caison and husband, Ray, Larry Joe Shannon and Danny K. Shannon and wife, Carolyn;  brothers, Harry Edward Jacobs and George Ralph Jacobs;  sister, Laura Jean Ziegler; grandchildren, Becky Chestnut, Stacie Connelly and husband, Robert, Jason Anderson, Nikki Shannon, John Cunningham and wife, Jo Beth, Ann White and husband, Jason, Lindsey Caison and boyfriend, Stanley Forrester and Tyler “Tylerman” Caison; special niece, Lily Jacobs; nineteen great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Dolores Ann Anderson; brothers, James D. Jacobs, Billy Jacobs, Paul A. Jacobs, Joe Fred Jacobs and Jerry Wayne Jacobs.
